River Song Waldorf Early Childhood Program is looking for a full time, year round Assistant Teacher to start August 2011.
River Song is a small relationship-based early childhood school that emphasizes creative play as an early foundation for creative thinking. River Song offers mixed-age pre-school classes for 2-1/2 to 5 year old children. We are housed in a small and cozy homelike setting. Our school is adjacent to a natural area that includes the Spring Creek Trail, a wonderful source for water play, discovery and observation of wildlife and seasonal change. Our classrooms hold 12-14 students per day and we have a teacher to child ratio of 1:7.
Qualifications:
We are looking for a gentle and loving individual to help with care of the classrooms, snack preparation, lunch, rest and creative play with children ages 2 ½ – 5yrs. Preference will be given to applicants that have an understanding of Waldorf education practices and philosophy. Candidates must have childcare experience and be GLQ or working towards becoming GLQ. Salary $10-11/hour depending on experience.
