Early Childhood Faculty & Staff (Soul)

The Faculty at River Song Waldorf School consists of  Aurora Romine and Mary Ann Connelly. Assistants: Elia Gilbert, Chelsea Hotchkiss, Sarah Fishburn and April Krauss. Susan Castellon is the Executive Director.

The purpose of the Faculty and Staff at River Song Waldorf School is to hold each child’s academic, social, and emotional well-being so that nurture and learning is possible. The Faculty also regularly addresses pedagogical issues, personal striving, and seasonal festival activities.

Families (Body)

The Families at River Song consist of people from all socio-economic backgrounds, but share the common love of what Waldorf education has brought to their children and their parenting.

The responsibility of the Families at River Song Waldorf School is to enter a co-operative agreement with the Faculty and the Council to help facilitate the implementation of the Waldorf Curriculum with home support, including:

  • Providing nutritious food for their children at home
  • Limiting or eliminating media influence in the household
  • Respecting sleep and household rhythms as important elements of assimilating learning
  • Working with Teachers to improve the children’s classroom experience
  • Volunteering in sundry capacities

Board (Spirit)

The River Song Board consists of Family and Faculty members who have come together to ensure the proper functioning of the school on a business level.

Currently, the Board Chair is Rebecca Hardin-Nieri. Other members include, Mary Ann Connelly, Penelope Gilliland, Marna Widom, Mellisa Kimball, Katie Godfrey, Bridget Walz and Dave Dimatteo. The Board addresses financial issues, grants, fundraising, personnel issues, marketing, and facilities.
